Quality

JSC "Chepetsky Mechanical Plant" is world-famed primarily for the quality of the Plant products. The product quality is provided by the Quality Management System (QMS) which includes the management of organizational, commercial and technical activity of the Plant and assures fulfillment of customers’ requirements for delivery of products of the necessary quality and in a scheduled date. Chepetsky Mechanical Plant has never got any claims from products consumers. And there were no any cases of late deliveries to consumers.

JSC ChMP quality system has more than 30 years of experience. It started in the middle of the 70-s of the last century, when there was established the universal quality management system of the Plant.

Quality Management System (QMS)

JSC ChMP quality system has more than 30 years of experience. It started in the middle of the 70-s of the last century, when there was established the universal quality management system of the Plant.

Creating of the present the Quality Management System on base of requirements of ISO 9000 started in 1992. The Plant QMS was certified the first time in 1997 by international certifying body TUV-CERT (Germany).

Nowadays JSC ChMP has developed, introduced, certified and successfully uses Quality Management System which meets the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001:2000, code of safety regulations of International Atomic Energy Agency # 50-С/SG-Q, the requirements of nuclear law of RF, rules and regulations in nuclear industry, the requirements of TVEL and consumers. The Quality Management System covers the production of zirconium, calcium and uranium.

Quality Policy

Priority of the products quality and safety for Chepetsky Mechanical Plant is the guarantee of achievement of the Plant strategic goals. Quality Policy is based on full satisfaction of customers and other interested parties. This is realized by raising competitive capacity of the products and getting of the stable profit for further development of production for the sake of society.

The goals are achieved by the study of the current and future requirements of customers, introduction of new types of products, introduction of breakthrough technologies, testing and checking methods. In this way the Plant decreases the production costs and forms the quality ideology.

Inspection and Testing of the Products

Inspection and testing of the products at JSC ChMP is carried out by the Quality Control Department (QCD), the Main Laboratory (ML) and the production staff. Metrological provision of inspection and testing is carried out by the Metrological Service. The products quality checking is carried out at all stages of the products manufacturing. The Plant uses established procedures of keeping records, making analysis, isolation, storing and using of the non-conforming products.

The Quality Control Department carries out inspection of uranium, calcium and zirconium production for compliance with the established requirements at all production stages. The inspection starts from raw material and finishes with packing and shipment of the products to consumer.

The Main Laboratory carries out analysis and testing of the chemical composition of raw material and final products. The Laboratory also carries out analytical inspection of production procedures in subdivisions of the Plant and tests specimens for mechanical, corrosion and metallographic properties. The Main Laboratory uses technical approach for applied research methods when products manufacturing.

QCD and ML are equipped with up-to-date high-performance measuring, checking and testing devices. All operations are performed by high-skilled certified specialists.

Quality Management System Audit

All Plant divisions belonging to the certified Quality Management System are subjected to internal audit. The audits are carried out by professional auditors of the Quality Control & Standardization Department together with part-time auditors of the Plant divisions. All Plant auditors have been trained and certified.

Annually the main customers of the Plant carry out the external audit of Quality Management System. The external audit results in certification of JSC ChMP as a supplier of the products for the certain future period.

Achievements in Quality field

November 1995 in Paris Chepetsky Mechanical Plant was awarded the IX International European Prize for quality, prestige and competitive ability of the products in the world market.

Six times (from 2000 to 2007) the products and the services of JSC ChMP became laureates of the All-Russian Competition "100 Best Goods of Russia". Those were:

• Zirconium alloy table settings;
• Seamless cold-rolled tubes of zirconium alloy E110 and E110;
• Assembly channel for RBM-К5;
• Calcium granules;
• Swimming pool facilities;
• Biological protection items of depleted uranium.

According to successful and repeated participating in the All-Russian Competition "100 Best Goods of Russia": in 2007 the Plant was awarded the prize "The Quality Leader".

Two times (in 1998 and 2004) JSC ChMP was acknowledged the laureate of the Award of RF Government in the quality field for great achievements in the field of the products and services quality and introducing of the high-performance quality management system.

In 2005 JSC ChMP became the laureate of the first Republic competition of Udmurt Republic President Award for Quality.

In 2006 the Plant was acknowledged the laureate of the international award "European Standard".

In 2007 JSC CHMP became the winner of CIS Award for achievements in the field of the products and services quality.
